Network Named User
Network Named User license enables you to specify the list of possible users, and the software can be accessed through a license manager in a network-only configuration. This license doesn’t support multiple sessions.
Concurrent
Concurrent license enables you to provide software access to anyone through a license manager in a network-only configuration. This license supports multiple sessions.
Individual
Individual license enables you to provide software access to a single end-user, and the software can be installed on up to four computers. As a single end-user, you will have the right to operate, install, and administer the software. As an organization, you can acquire several Individual licenses and designate an administrator to manage a group of licenses for the convenience of centralized administration. This license doesn’t support multiple sessions.
Campus-Wide License
Campus-Wide license allows you to provide MATLAB and Simulink software access to all faculty, researchers, and students on university-owned devices as well as personally-owned computers.
This is an annual license, and its pricing correlates with the number of enrolled students.
Academic Teaching with MATLAB
Academic Teaching with MATLAB license lets you install the software on a set number of personal and college-owned computers.
Academic Use – Individual
Individual license enables you to provide software access to a single end-user, who could be a faculty member, member of staff, or a researcher at a degree-granting institution, and the software can also be installed on up to four computers. A single end-user can operate, install, and administer the software. As an institution, you can acquire several Individual licenses and designate an administrator to manage a group of licenses for the convenience of centralized administration. This license doesn’t support multiple sessions.
Home license enables you to install and operate MATLAB exclusively for personal use.
Note: The license cannot be used for commercial, government, academic, or other organizational activities.

Comsol
Named Single User License (NSL)
Named Single User license enables you to provide COMSOL Multiphysics software access to a single designated user, and the software can be installed on up to four computers. However, you may temporarily or permanently replace the designated user registered for the license no more than two times per year. This license may be accessed through a single encrypted connection (virtual private network or remote desktop protocol) that provides secure remote access, such as a virtual private network or remote desktop protocol. A Named Single User License supports multiple simultaneous sessions that the designated user may run.
CPU-Locked Single User License (CPU)
CPU-Locked Single User license enables you to provide COMSOL Multiphysics software access to multiple users, and the software can be installed on only one designated computer. This license cannot be accessed or used remotely or over a network. A CPU-Locked Single User License supports multiple simultaneous sessions that one user may run.
Floating Network License (FNL)
Floating Network license is licensed on a concurrent user basis. This license enables you to provide COMSOL Multiphysics software access to multiple users, and the software can be installed on multiple computers within your country or territory. This license can not only be accessed or used remotely or over a network, but it also allows you to access the COMSOL computational engine through a client. A Floating Network License supports multiple simultaneous sessions that several users may run simultaneously. A single model can run on multiple compute nodes for cluster computing and cluster sweeps, with no limit to the number of compute nodes.
Class Kit License (CKL)
Class Kit License enables you to provide COMSOL Multiphysics software access to up to 30 teachers and students, and the software can be accessed through the license on-campus or a secure remote connection.
COMSOL Server™ License (CSL)
COMSOL Server™ License is licensed on a concurrent user basis, where each concurrent user can run up to four applications simultaneously. This version of the software enables you to run applications built with the Application Builder. You can host and run any applications inside or outside your organization if you time-share your concurrent user slots. Applications can be accessed via a web browser or via a COMSOL client for Windows.
Academic Server License (ASL)
Academic Server License is licensed on a 300 concurrent user basis, where each concurrent user can run up to four applications simultaneously. This version of the software enables you to run applications built with the Application Builder. You can host and run applications for students, faculty, and researchers of your or any other academic institution.
COMSOL Compiler™ License
COMSOL Compiler™ is available as an add-on to a COMSOL Multiphysics® license of the same type: Named Single User License, CPU-Locked Single User License, or Floating Network License.
