SciEngineer is thrilled to announce that it is now an official member of both ALTI and NAFEMS. Representing the company at these organizations are application engineer and COMSOL Multiphysics expert Arpad Forberger, and COMSOL representative Bence Takacs, express their eagerness to be part of this new era for the company.

In a significant stride towards advancing its expertise and industry influence, SciEngineer is joining the prestigious Audio & Loudspeaker Technologies International (ALTI) and the International Association for the Engineering Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Community (NAFEMS).

Arpad Forberger has been instrumental in driving simulation solutions that cater to complex engineering challenges. Membership in ALTI underlines his commitment to staying ahead of the industry’s latest developments and best practices.

Arpad’s expertise has been recognized at the 2023 ALTI conference, where he served as a speaker, delivering a presentation on his collaboration with industry innovator Zoltan Bay, the founder of BAYZ Audio. The presentation highlighted the transformative role that COMSOL Multiphysics played in advancing loudspeaker technology.

That collaboration resulted in a groundbreaking loudspeaker design, setting new standards for loudspeaker performance. Above all, the collaboration between Forberger and Zoltan Bay exemplifies the power of simulation in shaping the future of acoustics – the end result being the Counterpoint loudspeaker.

“When compared to other state-of-the-art speakers, the Counterpoint has a faster impulse response, much cleaner decay, and very low ringing. My intention was to design a speaker with the lowest distortion signature with an idealized pulse, with perfect frequency response in all directions.”

These milestones were at the center of the Sciengineering Conference 2023’s Automotive Acoustics Roundtable discussion. Each of them – Arpad Forberger;  Audio Simulation Technical Specialist at Jaguar Land Rover, Peter Akos Gajdatsy; Acoustic Design Engineer at Harman, Balázs Varga; Acoustic expert at Thyssenkrupp Components Technology Hungary, Tibor Kimpián; and president of ALTI, Mark Beach joined in through their passion and mastery of sound design and simulation to acknowledge the industry’s advancements, and best practices. The roundtable discussion left a noticeable positive impact on the audience, motivating the COMSOL duo to officiate their commitment, by joining ALTI and NAFEMS.

Commenting on his affiliation with ALTI, Forberger expressed enthusiasm on the opportunities it presents for collaboration and knowledge exchange within the acoustics community.

“ALTI is a hub of expertise and innovation in the acoustics field. Being part of this association will not only enrich my understanding, but also enable me to contribute more effectively to the acoustics landscape,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, Bence Takacs brings his extensive knowledge of COMSOL Multiphysics to NAFEMS, a leading global association focused on engineering simulation. Bence’s involvement signifies the company’s commitment to strengthening its ties with the simulation community, and leveraging the vast resources offered by NAFEMS.

“With simulation playing a pivotal role in engineering advancements, NAFEMS provides an invaluable platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing,” stated Takacs. “I am eager to engage with fellow professionals and contribute to the discourse around simulation technologies.”

The decision of Forberger and Takacs to join these prominent associations not only reflects their dedication to professional development, but also underscores the company’s strategic vision.

As the company continues to push the boundaries of simulation technology, Arpad Forberger and Bence Takacs becoming members of ALTI and NAFEMS signals a promising era for SciEngineer, solidifying its position as a leader in the dynamic and evolving field of simulation and acoustics.

In May of 2024, Arpad and Bence will return to ALTI, in Munich, where Arpad will deliver a presentation about Flow Induced Noise, and commencing their advocacy for integrating modeling simulation into sound design.
